Comet opened its doors in 1977 and has spent the last 49 years serving our clients' shipping, warehousing, and distribution needs across Florida. Dedicated delivery means your freight rides on its own truck, on your schedule, without being commingled with other shippers' freight at a terminal. When we dispatch a driver and vehicle, that truck is dedicated solely to your shipment. We pick up and head directly to delivery, or back to our facility if final delivery is not happening immediately. A traditional LTL carrier builds routes around their own efficiency. Multiple shippers' freight is consolidated, sorted at terminals, and delivered in whatever sequence makes sense for the carrier, regardless of any one customer's preferred timing. That often leads to missed windows, delays, excessive handling, and lack of accountability. With dedicated delivery, there is no commingled freight, no terminal sort, and the only schedule that matters is yours.

Yes. Our shipments and services are backed by comprehensive insurance and bonding, including coverage that supports U.S. Customs bonded carrier work for import and customs-controlled freight.

Yes to both. Our drivers carry TSA certification, which is required to handle freight in secure areas of airports. We also have TWIC-credentialed drivers (Transportation Worker Identification Credential), allowing us to pick up and deliver at restricted seaport facilities. That combination matters for clients who move air cargo through MIA, FLL, or MCO, or for anyone needing port pickups and drop-offs across South Florida.

Our Miami warehouse is 35,000 square feet with nine dock doors plus one ramp, a concrete tilt-up slab structure, a U.L.-approved Grade A3 alarm system, and centrally monitored cameras throughout. It supports a full range of warehousing and distribution, cross-docking, and freight consolidation workflows.

Our Comet Fleet includes around 80 vehicles: cars, vans, straight trucks, tractor-trailers, and flatbeds, operated by TSA-certified drivers. The mix lets us match the right equipment to the freight, whether it is a single letter, a small parcel, palletized freight, or a full truckload.

From Miami we serve all of Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties for dedicated, courier, and last-mile work, with regular runs into Naples, the Treasure Coast, and Central Florida. We also operate a Miami-Orlando linehaul service that runs daily between the two markets. For air cargo work we cover MIA, FLL, and MCO.

Yes. We run liftgate-equipped trucks for both pickup and delivery, which matters when freight is being picked up at or delivered to a ground-level location with no dock. Liftgate is one of the most common reasons freight deliveries fail at the final stop, and specifying it in advance avoids that. Read more about liftgate delivery.

Yes. We provide shipment-level visibility through our order management system: pickup confirmation, in-transit status, and proof of delivery. Tracking is by shipment, not by driver. We do not expose live driver GPS to clients.

We dispatch quickly. Geographic distance plays a role in pickup ETA, but in most South Florida markets we can have a driver on the way within an hour for time-critical work. For dedicated, emergency, or hot shot moves, the goal is to be rolling within 60 minutes.

Pricing depends on distance, weight, equipment type, accessorials (liftgate, inside delivery, etc.), and service level (regular, rush, super rush). Because we run dedicated, you are paying for the truck and driver, not for a share of a commingled load, which often comes out cheaper than people expect once you account for damage rates, delays, and the cost of missed windows.

Delivery time depends on the service level and distance. Same-day moves complete on the day of pickup. Next-day, expedited, and pre-scheduled moves run on the timeline confirmed at dispatch. For dedicated moves, the truck does not stop anywhere else, so transit is direct.

Yes. We handle airport cargo pickup and delivery at MIA, FLL, and MCO with TSA-certified drivers, and we offer drayage and seaport pickup/delivery with TWIC-credentialed drivers. We handle the ground side at both ends. We do not book the actual air freight or ocean freight.
