Retail Replenishment in Florida

Retail replenishment is the freight side of keeping stores stocked. New inventory arrives at the distribution center, gets sorted to store-level orders, and moves to individual locations on a recurring schedule that matches what each store is actually selling. Done well, the shelves stay full, the back room stays manageable, and the buyer is not making panicked weekend phone calls because the top SKU is out of stock.

Comet has been running replenishment freight for retail and hospitality clients across Florida since 1977. From our 35,000-square-foot Miami warehouse and our Orlando hub, we handle replenishment moves for everything from single-location boutiques to multi-state chains with dozens of Florida locations.

How Comet Replenishment Works

Inventory held at our facilities

For clients with full-line replenishment programs, inventory lives in our Miami or Orlando warehouse. We receive vendor inbound, store-level orders are pulled and packed on schedule, and the freight goes out on dedicated routes.

Cross-docked for fast-turn SKUs

For high-velocity SKUs that do not sit on shelves long, we run cross-docking. Inbound vendor freight comes into the dock, gets sorted to store-level outbound, and rolls back out the same day. Cuts holding cost on the SKUs that turn fastest.

Consolidated multi-vendor loads

For chains that take inbound from multiple vendors, we offer freight consolidation. Vendor freight aggregates at our facility, gets combined into store-level orders, and ships out on a unified schedule. One delivery to the store instead of five separate vendor drops.

Multi-stop routing built around your store list

Replenishment is rarely one truck to one store. It is one truck to ten or fifteen stores in a region. Our delivery route planning service builds the run against your store list, your delivery windows, and the truck capacity. Dispatch tracks the run, and we report back on completion.

Liftgate and dock-to-dock handling

Most retail locations are not loading docks. Our trucks are liftgate-equipped for ground-level unloading at storefronts, strip-center spaces, and mall-internal locations. For chains receiving at dock-equipped DCs, we offer dock-to-dock.

Geographic Coverage

Out of Miami we run replenishment routes across Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties, the Treasure Coast, and Naples. The daily Miami-Orlando linehaul handles routes crossing the metros. Out of Orlando we cover Central Florida, the I-4 corridor, and Tampa, Jacksonville, and surrounding markets.

For clients running national programs, our Florida operation often serves as the southeast regional replenishment hub, with inbound from out of state via trucking and outbound to Florida stores via our local routes.

Industries We Serve on Replenishment

  • Apparel and accessories chains: weekly or biweekly store-level replenishment from a regional DC
  • Specialty retail and boutique brands: lower-frequency replenishment with high accuracy expectations
  • Big-box and home improvement: high-volume routine restock plus seasonal surge handling
  • Grocery and convenience: high-frequency restock with tight delivery windows
  • Pharmacy and health retail: regulated category handling with TSA-certified drivers where needed
  • Electronics retail: high-value SKU handling, white-glove on premium pieces, signature confirmation
  • Restaurants and hospitality supply: kitchen consumables, dining-room replenishment, in-room amenity restock
  • Amazon and DTC sellers: chain-style replenishment to Amazon FBA facilities

Dedicated Delivery, by Default

Replenishment work at Comet runs on the same dedicated-delivery principle as the rest of our business. When a truck is dispatched on your replenishment route, that vehicle moves your freight, not commingled with other shippers' loads at a terminal. See how dedicated delivery works.

For shippers used to LTL replenishment that comes with terminal sorts, mixed-load handling, and accountability gaps when something goes wrong, the dedicated model usually means fewer missed delivery windows, less damaged inventory, and a single point of contact when the route needs to adjust.

Returns and Reverse Logistics

Replenishment runs paired with reverse logistics on the same dispatch where the schedule and load allow. New inventory in, end-of-season returns or defectives out, both legs on one truck.

Related Services

Retail replenishment pairs naturally with several other Comet services. Inventory typically sits in warehousing & distribution, fast-turns via cross-docking, or consolidates through freight consolidation. Multi-store rollouts use our delivery route planning and last-mile delivery. For DTC restocks, see home delivery, and for store fixtures, retail fixtures (FF&E).
